Do they have the human subject experimental data to show that their system will still be safe under this condition? There should be some sort of model with reaction time expectations that fits real-world customers to make sure that drivers are not put in untenable situations. Hands-free is pretty much certain to lengthen reaction times. Some open questions I hope we get answers to as this evolves: I welcome a company who has a reputation for taking safety more seriously developing a capability that can shine more light on just how poorly conceived that other company's human/computer interaction model is for vehicles that perform sustained speed+steering vehicle control.
